Privacy Policy

Sidewalkers is a product of Reynolds Labs LLC. Reynolds Labs LLC ("we," "us," or "our") provides Sidewalkers as a general wellness app built to help friends and families build healthier routines together through groups, challenges, shared progress, and encouragement. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and what choices you have. This Privacy Policy applies to the Sidewalkers iPhone app, our public website, and related services.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information when you use Sidewalkers:

  • Account information such as your name, email address, sign-in identifiers, and profile details.
  • Group and social information such as group memberships, invite activity, reactions, and shared posts or updates.
  • Movement and activity information you choose to connect or log, such as steps, active minutes, walking or running distance, workouts, activity summaries, challenge progress, and related activity records needed to run the service.
  • Profile content such as photos, display names, and other details you choose to add.
  • Device, diagnostic, and usage information such as app events, crash reports, feature usage, and general app performance data.
  • Notification-related information such as push tokens and your notification preferences.
  • Support messages you send through our website contact page, by email, or through the in-app contact flow, including your name, email address, issue description, and any diagnostic log archive you choose to send with the request.
  • Moderation and abuse-report information when you report a user or account-related concern, which may include your account identifier, the reported account identifier, profile details relevant to the report, group context, the time of the report, and related review or enforcement records.

Website Data and Cookies

On our public website, we do not currently use cookies, tracking pixels, browser storage, or client-side behavioral analytics to build visitor profiles or track people across websites. We use aggregate hosting and content-delivery metrics, such as total request counts, bandwidth, and error rates, to understand overall traffic and reliability. These aggregate metrics are not linked to a Sidewalkers account and are not used to identify individual visitors.

Our hosting and content-delivery providers necessarily process limited request information, such as an IP address, browser or device information, the requested page, and the time of the request, to deliver and protect the website. When you use the password-reset page, your browser communicates with Google Firebase Authentication to verify the reset link and update your password. When you use our contact page, the page opens your email application; your message is sent only if you choose to send it.

How We Use Information

We use information we collect to:

  • create and manage your account and group membership
  • power challenges, progress tracking, leaderboards, reactions, and encouragement features
  • sync activity data you authorize us to access
  • send service messages, challenge updates, invites, and notifications
  • maintain app security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot problems
  • measure product performance and improve the app experience
  • support subscriptions, entitlements, and restore-purchase flows
  • investigate potential violations, protect users, maintain service integrity, and support moderation or enforcement decisions

Health and Social Visibility

Sidewalkers is designed around shared accountability. That means some information you submit or connect may be visible to other members of your group, including your name, profile image, challenge participation, progress, activity summaries, streaks, reactions, and related social activity. Only share information you are comfortable sharing with your group.

Leaderboards and Score Uploads

If you use leaderboard, challenge, or shared progress features, Sidewalkers uploads the activity summaries, scores, and related ranking data needed to run those features to our servers, including cloud infrastructure we use to operate the service. This lets us calculate rankings, keep leaderboard results in sync across devices, and show the current standings to the users included in that leaderboard.

Depending on the feature, leaderboard visibility may include your display name, profile image, group membership context, and score or activity totals for the relevant time window. If a leaderboard is scoped to your group, that information is visible to members of that group. If Sidewalkers offers a broader app-wide leaderboard or similarly public ranking feature, the participating score and profile information associated with that ranking may be visible to the users who can access that leaderboard.

HealthKit and Connected Services

If you choose to connect Apple Health or another supported data source, we use that data to support your experience inside Sidewalkers. Depending on the permissions you grant, this may include steps, active minutes, walking or running distance, workouts, and related activity summaries used for progress tracking, challenges, and other app functionality. You do not need to connect health data to use every part of the app, and you can revoke permissions through your device settings. Health and activity information is used to provide Sidewalkers functionality and is not used by us to serve third-party advertising.

General Wellness Positioning

Sidewalkers is a consumer wellness product focused on movement, routines, accountability, and encouragement. It is not a medical service, and our privacy practices should be understood in that context.

Payments and Subscription Information

Paid subscriptions in Sidewalkers are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your full payment card number. We may receive limited subscription status information, such as your plan, product identifier, renewal state, and expiration details, so we can unlock the correct features in the app.

Advertising

Sidewalkers is not designed around third-party advertising. We do not currently run third-party ads inside the app, and we do not use the health and activity information you share with Sidewalkers to target third-party ads to you.

How We Share Information

We may share information in the following limited situations:

  • with other users of Sidewalkers in your group when the feature is built around shared visibility and encouragement
  • with service providers and infrastructure vendors that help us operate the app, public website, and related services, such as Apple and vendors we use for hosting, content delivery, authentication, storage, analytics, messaging, remote configuration, customer support, and crash reporting. For example, we may use Amazon Web Services for website hosting and content delivery and Google Firebase, Firebase Analytics, and related cloud infrastructure for app functionality. Our app product analytics are configured to avoid names, email addresses, authentication IDs, invite codes, transaction IDs, document paths, and exact health measurements.
  • with Apple when necessary to support App Store billing, subscription validation, and related platform requirements
  • when required by law, legal process, or a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the service
  • as part of a business transition such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app, maintain group and account records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention may vary based on the type of information and whether the information is needed for security, accounting, or operational reasons.

We may use Firebase Analytics and crash-reporting services to collect limited, pseudonymous app usage and reliability signals, such as feature events, broad outcome categories, app version, build environment, device and operating-system context, and crash or nonfatal-error diagnostics. We do not send names, email addresses, authentication user IDs, group IDs, invite codes, raw HealthKit values, signed purchase transactions, support message contents, or other direct account identifiers in these analytics events. These signals are used to understand product performance, diagnose failures, and improve reliability; they are not used to provide medical advice or to target third-party advertising.

Analytics and diagnostic providers may retain pseudonymous installation or app-instance identifiers and technical records under their own service retention controls. Those records may not be deleted at the same time as account and product data, and deletion requests may be subject to provider processing times and limitations. We restrict access to these records and use them only for the operational, security, troubleshooting, and product-improvement purposes described here.

We may retain aggregate website traffic and reliability statistics that are not linked to an identifiable visitor or Sidewalkers account. Because those aggregate statistics cannot reasonably be associated with an individual account, they are not removed through account deletion. Website hosting, content-delivery, authentication, and security providers may retain limited technical records under their own operational, security, and legal retention requirements.

Support messages submitted through our website contact page, by email, or through the in-app contact flow may be retained so we can review the issue, respond if needed, and maintain a record of prior requests for support and abuse prevention. If you choose to send a diagnostic log archive with a support request, we may store that archive in Firebase Storage alongside the request so we can investigate the issue. These diagnostics may include technical app, device, account, group, and service-event metadata useful for troubleshooting. We apply safeguards and sanitization designed to reduce sensitive data in exported logs, but you should avoid including sensitive personal information in free-form support messages or attachments unless it is necessary for your request.

We may retain moderation and abuse-report records for as long as reasonably necessary for user safety, security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, operational recordkeeping, and enforcement of our terms and policies.

When a group is deleted, we may retain a limited deletion record, such as the group identifier, creator identifier, group name, plan tier, member count or member identifiers at deletion, deletion timestamps, and cleanup status, for security, fraud prevention, operational integrity, and recordkeeping. We do not need to keep the full deleted group content in active systems for that purpose.

Your Choices

  • You can choose whether to connect health data and whether to grant notification permissions.
  • You can update profile information in the app.
  • You can delete your account from the Settings screen in the app.
  • You can manage subscription cancellations through your Apple account settings.
  • You can request a refund from Apple through Apple’s own refund process.
  • You can request account-related help through the support contact listed with Sidewalkers.

Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your account from the Settings screen in the Sidewalkers iPhone app. In some cases, account deletion may require additional steps before it can be completed. For example, if you own a group that still has other members, you may need to remove other members and delete that group before your account can be fully deleted. Once a deletion request can be processed, we delete the account data we control in our active systems, subject to legal, security, fraud prevention, accounting, backup, and operational retention requirements.

Deleting your account may remove your ability to access groups, challenges, messages, progress history, and related content. Data already shared with other users may remain in their copies or visible group views where the feature requires it. Deleting your account does not cancel App Store subscriptions or guarantee a refund.

Account deletion does not necessarily cause immediate deletion of pseudonymous analytics, crash-reporting, or infrastructure log records held by third-party providers. We use the deletion and retention controls available for those services where applicable, but those systems may retain limited technical or aggregated records for a period needed for security, reliability, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or service operations.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information we control. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Sidewalkers is intended for users age 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Sidewalkers only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian where required. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us so we can review the situation and take appropriate steps, including deletion where required.

International and Regional Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information. We will review and respond to requests as required by applicable law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the effective date above and provide additional notice where appropriate.
